David Howard

David is an experienced Training and Development practitioner with over 27 years of experience working for blue-chip global financial firms. David started his career in 1981 when he joined Chase Manhattan Bank Ltd working in Eurobond Settlements Department before moving to Chemical Bank Intl Ltd 3 years later. There he fulfilled both trading and sales roles in Japanese Fixed Income Securities.  After 3 years with Chemical, David was recruited to set-up and run a Japanese trading desk for Taiyo Kobe Intl.

In 1990 David joined DC Gardner Training with the responsibility for the design and delivery of a wide range of workshops on Business Development and Management Skills for Investment, Commercial and Retail Banks throughout the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and North America.

In 1994 David joined UBS as Head of Training & Development where he was responsible for initiating training interventions for the 3000 staff of the London office. In 1996 he transferred to the Equities division as Business Manager, responsible for the design and implementation of a Relationship Management strategy which included training and systems development.

In 1998 David was invited to take on a new role within UBS as Global Head of Sales and Account Management Education. He was responsible for designing and delivering a suite of workshops designed to improve global client distribution skills and to foster a more client-focused approach to the business.

In August 2000 David formed David Howard Training Ltd specialising in the provision of training & consultancy services in the area of Management & Business Development skills to Financial Institutions globally.

Since August 2000 David has worked with a broad spectrum of organisations responsible for the managing, marketing, selling and negotiating in the following product areas: Retail, Structured Products, Corporate Finance, Derivatives, Equities, Fixed Income, Money Markets, Commodities, Risk Management, Real Estate, Fund Management, and Hedge Funds. The clients to whom these products are marketed and sold include Retails & Wealth Management, Financial Institutions, Corporates, SME’s, Asset Gathers and Wholesale.

David has delivered courses in more than 35 countries throughout the world and is a member of the Institute of Personnel and Development.

Mike Gale

Mike has been a training consultant for over 25 years. He began with MHA International before setting up his own training consultancy company, focusing on communication skills in Sales, Leadership, Teamwork and Customer Service arenas. Additionally, as an associate partner, he helped ENB Consulting build a unique business proposition to become a successful worldwide bank training franchise now owned by Moody’s. His background originally was in Banking & Finance at Standard Chartered Bank and Thomas Cook Foreign Money - Midland Bank/HSBC where he managed F/X and Banknote teams to develop new markets and clients with Financial Institutions in Spain and Portugal, the Nordic countries, mid-Europe and finally in the Middle East, setting up a joint venture with Bahrain Financing company. He has worked with over 100 clients across 20 industries and professions in more than 35 countries.

Mike’s core talent and passion is based on helping others to understand their own ‘aura’, preferences and style so that they find ways to build their capability to connect with people effectively through inspirational methods of influencing, communicating and leading. His facilitation experience is based on supporting behavioural and communication development areas, often using the Insights Discovery psychometric. Whether focusing on sales/relationship skills, pitching/presentation/speaking skills or interpersonal issues, Mike enables executives to build awareness and flexibility around their own authenticity, finding specific outcomes to suit their personal and professional goals.

Mike was born in Colombia and speaks Spanish. He has worked extensively in almost every continent around the world and is familiar with many cultures; he has also delivered training in Spanish in Lima and Mexico City
